The Gift of Experiences

For my birthday this year my bestie, roomie, life-partner--the list goes on--got us tickets to see the acapella group, Straight No Chaser. I think gifting experiences is the coolest way to give especially for that hard to buy for person in your life. The older I get and the more I travel I find myself less interested in things and more invested in experiencing new things. Whether it's a trip around the world or tickets to a show in town, experiences are a gift that will never be forgotten.

Before the show Natalie made reservations at Forno located in the Short North in Columbus. Forno, meaning oven in Italian, serves up American cuisine finished off in their signature stone-fired ovens. The cocktails are top notch as well.

We split fresh ahi tuna tacos, arancini, and the garden pizza which was covered in roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, red onions, and arugula.

The pizza had a crusty bite with a fluffy textured inside which is just how I like it. Wood fired pizza is my favorite! We started out fancy but everyone knows the only way to really enjoy a pizza is to eat it with your hands.

Bellies full, we hailed an Uber and scurried out from the cold into the theater.

This was my second time seeing Straight No Chaser and they did not disappoint. Made famous by the viral upload of their 12 Days of Christmas, they've continued to sell out shows all over the world. The highlights of the show for me were their original adaptation of All About That Bass (No Tenors) and their Movie Medley.

They definitely know how to keep a crowd entertained and laughing. I highly recommend attending a show near you!
