Friday was of course Halloween and I got to celebrate by dressing up as a gum ball machine and partying with my 25 little ghouls and boys.
I left immediately after school to run home, grab my packed bags, and catch a flight to the Washington Dulles airport. The weather had other plans though and after ground stops in Detroit and Charlotte I finally arrived to Ronald Reagan around 12:45 AM.
Thankfully a big comfy hotel bed all to myself had me well rested and on Saturday I joined Corey and his family for his brother's wedding. It was simple yet beautiful and I had a lot of fun chatting the evening away with his family.
Love was certainly in the air and the bride and groom evoked so much happiness and genuine affection for each other. Congratulations lovebirds!
Though I so badly wanted to walk around the National Mall and see the monuments, our trip was a quick one and we left early on Sunday. With no time for sightseeing, Corey did sweetly agree to drive out of our way so that I could visit Georgetown Cupcake.
I've always been a fan of the shop after popularized by their tv show on TLC, DC Cupcakes. The place was small but the workers were fast. I was in and out in 10 minutes.
I ordered a half dozen including vanilla, chocolate squared (for corey), caramel apple, salted caramel, mocha fudge, and pumpkin spice along with a coffee.
It was a cupcake lover's dream come true! The next statement is not expressed lightheartedly. These were hands down the best cupcakes I've ever had. The flavor and texture of both the cake itself and the icing was flawless.
If you have a sweet tooth and find yourself in Georgetown or near one of their other locations, make sure you stop in for a visit. They also ship nationwide!
I wish all weekends were filled with catching planes and exploring new places, but I've since quickly returned to reality. Now if you'll excuse me I think I'll go and polish off another one of those beauties!
