I can't believe I'm gearing up for my last week of school! It has been a whirlwind of a year and I've had a blast the whole way.
Yesterday I spent some time prepping my summer packets and end of the year gifts for my kids. I've been buying things here and there for a couple months to make this really special. But first--the weekend!
Saturday we took my mom's cousin and her kids to the National Air Force Museum. Us Daytonians take this place for granted, but it truly is a phenomenal experience that out-of-towners are always impressed with.
We couldn't have picked a better day because it happened to Space Fest and this happened...
That's right we met R2D2 from Star Wars and it made Star Wars fanatic, Noah extremely happy. Beyond happy!
After our quick jaunt through the museum we headed home for a full Puerto Rican meal (YUMM!) made by prima Salina complete with pina coladas. We sang happy birthday to Noah who just turned 13 and celebrated with what else but a Star Wars cake.
After a round of Clue and Apples to Apples it was way past this gal's bedtime but the children had one last bit of fun for the night. Sparklers!
It was so much fun getting to spend the weekend with my mom's family. We don't see them often but it's always a joy catching up!
