Remember the Fallen

Hello out there! I hope you're having a great Memorial Day. If you're lucky enough you get to spend it away from work, bathing in the sunshine that has graced us with its presence. Of course we can't spend the day nibbling BBQ and sipping ice cold drinks without remembering today's purpose.

The military will always be part of my life and my support for our soldiers and allegiance with our great Armed Forces never wavers. Today we think about all of our soldiers, but more importantly those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It's more than a thank you or a Facebook post. My dad, a veteran himself, goes out every year and puts flags on soldiers graves at the Dayton National Cemetery. Do something today in remembrance of a fallen soldier.
  • Post a flag
  • Say a prayer
  • Write a letter to deployed soldiers
  • Visit and spend time with an elderly or wounded veteran
If you're looking do something a little more think about donating to one of my favorite causes, the Wounded Warrior Project. My mom and dad started having their Christmas gift from my grandparents donated to this fund and on this day of remembrance I decided to do my part and donate as well.

Wounded Warrior Project helps wounded vets through rehabilitative and transitional processes upon their return home from military conflict. The programs are catered to their own and their families needs. It's an awesome way to show your support and help our soldiers in times of need. Click my support button down below to be taken to the donation page of WWP's website.

If you're feeling particularly tough and want to show your support while having a bit of fun at the same time, sign up for a Tough Mudder event. They're big time supporters of WWP and have raised over $6 million dollars.

So whatever you get up to today whether it be a dip in the pool or a finger lickin' good BBQ with the fam, make sure to take a moment and do something in remembrance of a fallen hero.
