2014 Brings Babies

I absolutely love all things baby. I'm loving all things baby even more because coming soon to family functions near...well, me...I'll have 2 new babies to cuddle and coo with.

Up until the last year or so our family has been more about growing up rather than enjoying new babies. My cousin Emily filled the void first with an adorable baby boy and now two more of my cousins are pregnant!

Since everyone was already together over Christmas, my family had a brunch style shower for my cousin Courtney while everyone was still in town.

I loved the weekly bump pics displayed in a cute garland and all of the pink, girly touches used to decorate.

After my aunt's blessing, we all sat down and picked up right where Christmas dinner ended, catching up and laughing together. I piled my plate high with a sun-dried tomato quiche and plenty of fresh fruit.

And you can't have a shower or family get together without sweets. A while back when planning the shower, my aunt asked me to make some mini-cupcakes and I do have to say I was pretty darn proud of them!

I made white chocolate cupcakes with a vanilla buttercream frosting all topped with a handmade delicate chocolate flower.

I've never made cupcakes to fill a request for an event before so it made me feel pretty good when my great aunt couldn't believe they weren't from a bakery! :)

After filling our plates with sweet treats, my cousin Brittany led a game where we had to write down the names of children from various tv shows. I love trivia quizzes and it killed me that I could only think of 5 of the 6 Brady kids! I was missing Peter!

Finally the beautiful momma opened all of her gifts.

Celebrating new life with family is so exciting and Courtney will be a wonderful mama! I can't wait to meet that precious baby girl! :)

  1. I love the quiche idea! I have never seen that done at a shower. Normally it's salad and finger foods. Those little baby shoes are to die for!
