Now that you're back...
On Christmas Eve I spent the afternoon with Corey's family for Christmas lunch. The fellowship was great. We played a silly game unwrapping a giant gift in gloves which gave everyone a laugh. To share, I brought these yummy gingerbread cupcakes. (recipe via taste of home--right click the picture to save the recipe card!)
Later that evening my mom, brother, and I packed up the car and headed to Chicago for Christmas at my grandparents' house. We were warmly welcomed by family and plenty of cozy Christmas decorations.
Christmas day was spent lounging, catching up with family, opening gifts, card games, and food...lots of food!
My grandma worked hard and prepared a beautiful dinner which was all topped off with one of our favorite traditions as kids--Christmas crackers! The paper crowns tucked inside are a fashionable dinner must.
Following dinner there was a very large round of Pond Scum--which I happily did not ever end up scum, whew!, more munchies, and cousin snuggles.
Question of the day. How are all babies such iPad pros?
I hope your holiday was spent the way you hoped it would be! I missed my dad and my sister (they had to stay home because of work) but any occasion with my extended family under one roof is always a guaranteed enjoyable time. Until next year, Christmas!
