Practically Perfect in Every Way

Thursday night my mom, sister, and I enjoyed an evening at the theater for a night of broadway. Disney's Mary Poppins is in town and although Julie and Dick were nowhere in sight, the show was absolutely fabulous!
We arrived at the Schuster Center and posed quickly enough to escape being swept away by the wind.

In my opinion, the Schuster has been one of the best additions to our city and is currently celebrating their 10th anniversary! It is a beautiful building with a perfect view through the large, glass front windows.
Once we were seated in the balcony my excitement began to settle in. A musical--and Disney nonetheless? That's my idea of a perfect night out. The musical numbers were so fun and lively; the cast was phenomenal! And although Mary Poppins was in fact, "practically perfect in every way" my favorite characters were probably the two little stars playing Michael and Jane. They blew me away with their talent in both acting and singing! (Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Step in Time were my favorite numbers!)
At intermission I sat thinking just how incredible the arts are. Everything from the performers to the details in the set design, sound, and lighting was meticulously planned and all came together for a gorgeous final product. During the break, Mom and I had a bit of fun playing around with the posters set up around the lobby.
Having now seen The Lion King and Mary Poppins at the Schuster, I can't recommend enough grabbing up a pair of tickets and planning a nice evening out for yourself and a date. Or, make it a family affair and catch the next Disney show in town.
Mary Poppins is only here through the rest of this weekend, but if you get the chance to see it, I suggest you do!

  1. This looks like it was a lot of fun! I saw Wicked at the Orpheum in SF a few years ago, and I loved it! I would love to go see another play on Broadway soon :)!

    1. I love Wicked! I saw it in Cincinnati while I was in high school, but I would love to see it again!
