Valentine's Day, Two Days Later

Though Valentine's Day quite often gets pegged as a lame, hallmark holiday, I still enjoy getting a little love giddy over it. On the 14th I had parent teacher conferences at school until 8:00 pm and Friday, Corey had to work an event for the football program he coaches with. That left us with Saturday when I was finally able to fix up my hair, put on a little makeup, and head out to a nice dinner with my man.

I actually really liked that we waited until Saturday--the love was still in the air, but without the cheeseball factor. We dined at a little Italian restaurant in Troy called La Piazza.
When we arrived there was a bit of a wait, so we took a seat in the bar area and had a quick drink.

We didn't have to wait long before our table was ready and we were whisked to the back of the restaurant at a little table for two. The dim lighting throughout was a nice addition for the romance factor--but not for my photos! My camera died so I was stuck with the ol' camera phone.
Though I've never been to Italy, I'm a big Italian food lover. The atmosphere here seemed to channel Italy well and I wanted one of everything on the menu! Corey did too! I ended up getting the smoked chicken ravioli and Corey had a filet. Both were delicious!
A sweet night with my sweet valentine was nothing short of perfect! I will definitely be back to La Piazza soon!

New running shorts and these beauties we icing on the cake!
