As much as I love moving into long sleeves during that crisp, beginning of Fall air, I can't say that cold weather is my favorite to dress for. However, I do love layering and that look has been my go to for this chilly season.
I'm in a constant battle with my wardrobe and am always trying to find pieces that are stylish, comfortable, work appropriate, season appropriate, and not too...old...or young for that matter.
I don't want to be wearing the same outfit as any of my 5th graders, that's for sure!
Here are some looks I've been rocking at school this winter. I end up freezing in my classroom by mid-afternoon so the layers are a must!

I LOVE my winter coat. I haven't bought a new winter coat in over 4 years so when I saw this hunter green coat for a steal, I snatched it up! My old coat stops at my waist which I didn't love. This length is perfect! It also has a really cute bow on the strap in the back. I recently saw it on sale at F21, if you're interested!
This last outfit I wore for a night on the town to celebrate a friends birthday. Paired with my black leather jacket this made the perfect winter wear for a night out. Because the dress is nothing formal, I would easily transition this to a school outfit by pairing it with a cardigan.
The best part of my school outfits is that I mix and match a lot. One button down or cardigan can easily be 6 different outfits for me! Or, I change up something I've worn recently by adding a different accessory such as a scarf, watch, or necklace.
I've also been crushing on puffer vests this year (like the orange one above). I may or may not have 4 different colors and wear 1 at least once a week...
What's your go-to winter clothing staple? Are you allowed to "dress down" at work?
