The Time Has Finally Come

Well if you follow me you probably already heard the big news but...I GOT A NEW JOB! If you remember when I traveled from Florida back to Ohio at the beginning of the summer, I said I had a lot of thinking and praying to do about my future.

I wasn't sure that Florida was the place for me to settle into my career, but I also didn't know if it would be possible for me to find something that suited me better, closer to home. It's funny though how we worry and question God when he is always in control. I didn't just get lucky in landing a job, but rather God's plan for me is unfolding the way he has intended it to be all along.

My position is as a Title 1 teacher. For those of you who may not know, Title 1 refers to funding given by the federal government to schools who qualify for interventions in reading. The intent is basically for schools to use the extra funding for interventions with low achieving students and in turn close the achievement gap. My job will be to collect data, provide small group instruction, assess, monitor progress, and work hand in hand with the classroom teachers to help students be more successful in reading.

That being said, funding for Title 1 is on a yearly basis. Who knows what will happen next year with my position, but I'll worry about that when the time comes. For now I am beyond excited to have a full-time job, be in Ohio, and be close to my family. AND I haven't even told you the best part...the position is in the school I did my student teaching with! (my room will be right next door to my amazing co-operating teacher!) It is a all a dream come true but even better than that, a testimony to trusting in God, believing in his plan for you, and leaning on him through high and low--as hard as that can be at times.

I thank everyone who has offered their support and prayers during what has been a most uncertain period of time (especially in what seems to be a jobless market!)

Sorry for not having pictures and this being a long, possibly boring, post. But, I assure you there are better FUN and TEACHERY posts to come!
