Looking for something to kick-off your day?? How about a smoothie! When I buy fresh fruit, I'm always excited most about cutting it up and freezing part of it for later.
Having fresh fruit on hand, frozen, and ready to be blended is the perfect combo for a quick and easy smoothie. Here's what I put in my latest smoothie:
- peaches (which were perfectly ripe--YUM!)
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt (I'm guessing; I made it for 2 people)
- splash of orange juice
Although I've read many times about adding spinach and other vegetables to a fruit smoothie as an easy and healthy choice, I've never actually tried it. And I have to say, everybody's right! I didn't taste it at all. I experimented with about 5 fresh leaves of spinach. I'll probably add more next time.
I also LOVE blueberries, but didn't have any on hand this time.
